We enjoyed raising money for Children In Need with different activities throughout the day. The children had so much fun painting pudsey, making him in the playdough and having a hunt to find all the different pudseys. Thank you to everyone who supported us and helped us in raising £132.40.

Grandparents Day 2025
A huge thank you to all the grandparents who joined us for a magical morning at Knockbreda Nursery School! From storytelling with Liz Weir in our Forest School to stay-and-play fun indoors, it was a day full of smiles, stories, and special moments. 💛 It was a joy to see the children sharing their nursery experience with loved ones, and we’re excited to continue building these connections throughout the year!
Welcome to Knockbreda Nursery!
A welcome from our Acting Principal, Mrs Anderson
It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to Knockbreda Nursery School for the 2025-2026 school year. I am delighted to be stepping into the role of Acting Principal while Mrs Devine is on maternity leave. I feel very fortunate to be working alongside our long-standing, dedicated staff team, who bring so much care and experience to the nursery. It’s a privilege to be part of such a special community, where children are nurtured, supported, and encouraged to explore and grow every single day.
I am eager to continue building on the strong foundations already in place, ensuring that every child has the best possible start to their educational journey.
I look forward to getting to know each of you in the months ahead, and I am confident that, together, we can make this a truly happy and successful year for our children.
Warm Regards
Lynsey Anderson
George and his Recycling Rat
We were delighted to have George from the Belfast City Council back at Knockbreda, with his friend with stripy socks Mr. Rat!
George was able to talk to the children about littering, recycling, reusing and about landfill. The children were able to contribute to the story as they are very keen on looking after the environment and have now a great understanding of what items can be recycled and what bin items should be put in. Great job boys and girls!

🏃Jump, Jiggle and Jive 🎶
Everyone loved having Diletta (Bonnie is what the children called her) from Jump, Jiggle and Jive. They enjoyed moving their bodies in many different ways and getting to use different props. 😁🏃🎶

The children enjoy being up in Forest school and get stuck in. They helped with some litter picking and began planting some seeds to take care of Forest school.
📔World Book Day 2025!📔
Thank you to the very kind mums, dads and siblings that came to read a story or two for us! We loved having you in our classroom!
We had loads of fun reading with mums, dads and siblings, we then looked for different book characters around our classroom and were so excited and lastly picked a book and went on a book hunt to find what was on our checklist.
And thank you all for your kind donations to the Book Aid charity; as a Gold Rights Respecting School we would like to continue developing the children’s awareness as citizens of the world with this type of charitable opportunity.
