We were delighted to welcome Jo from Performing Starz to conclude our World book celebrations with a very fun and engaging puppet show! We had a chance to move, dance and laugh as we watched and listened carefully to the puppets!
Thank you to the very kind mums, dads and siblings that came to read a story or two for us! We loved having you in our classroom!
And thank you all for your kind donations to the Book Aid charity; as a Gold Rights Respecting School we would like to continue developing the children’s awareness as citizens of the world with this type of charitable opportunity.
We are the only controlled mainstream Nursery School in Northern Ireland to have attained this award. A big thank you to all the children, parents and staff, particularly Mrs Welsh, who have worked tirelessly to ensure we achieve the award. The full report can be read here.
We were delighted to participate on our Term 2 Shared Education event at the St. Bernard’s Parish Center, where our friends from St. Bernard’s Preschool hosted us for an art and games morning.
We hope to see everyone from our partnership during Term 3 for a big 4 schools event.
A great big thank you to all the kind volunteers that came on 31st January 2024 to help the children plant a tree in support of the One Million Trees project. It was fantastic to see the children so happy being out in nature and our school grounds looking clean and tidy from the litter pick. Thank you also to Aodhan O'Kane from the Belfast Hills Partnership for supplying the variety of trees.

We have had a lot of fun during our first term at school! Have a look at the photos to see how busy we have been and how much we have learnt!
We were delighted to receive a very special visit from the North Pole! Ellie the E.L.F. (Environmental Litter Friend) came to tell us about how Captain Cleanup saved Christmas last year after all the grownups had littered in Belfast and Santa’s boots got covered in dog’s poo and the reindeers’ hooves were covered on gum and rubbish. We promised to help Santa this year by making sure the grownups put the rubbish in the bin and remember to bring poo bags to clean up after their dogs.
Thank you for taking part on Christmas Jumper Day and for giving generously to Save The Children.
We talked to the children about the reason for giving money to this charity and we sang our Rights Respecting Song as we remembered how lucky we are to have our rights respected.
